IN FAITH, HE....Devotional

New Direction — Seek the Right Path

God's Inherent Word / Immersed Power and Light

The links below are for your convenience to guide you into much relavant material related to this devotion, in and out of They are good for all ages! Be sure to explore them!

We have a Faith that bestows God's Saving Grace and our New Life in Christ. What comes next is a different kind of faith. It is a faith that leads to repentance and into agreement with God and His ways. We need to seek the right path and turn our lives in a different direction. How do we get on the right path?

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2Tim. 3:16

There we have it! We must get into God's Word and let Him change us from the inside out. His path is not difficult to navigate. He has given us His survival manual. Learning to love as God loves comes first! Once we embrace that Agape (unconditional) love and put it into practice, then comes believing faith. Living a life of faith with confidence in His love for us will bring the victory of all He is into our personal walk with Him.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God...John 1:1 & 2a... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 1John:1:14

The gospel of John is a great place to begin a New Life in Christ bible study, as it firmly establishes Jesus as Lord, Jesus as the Word, and the Word as Truth. John teaches us that the Word of God has the power to change us and bring purpose to our life's journey. My "Enlighten Me" bible study on the Gospel Writers teach much about John and His gospel message! He gave instructions to guide the choices we make with the Bible as our book of boundaries.

Now He who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us." 1John 3:24

We should come to God's Word with excitement and approach the reading of His Word with a desire to have God's love revealed to us! Being fully grounded in knowledge of how great His love is with His Holy Spirit to guide our understanding, will set our hearts and feet in the right direction. It's really all in the seeking. God judges the hearts of man; He searches for hearts that are turned toward Him.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

I have studied the Word of God for many years and from many different sources, praying for understanding and discernment. IN FAITH, HE... confirms what is from Him, when I keep my heart and mind open to His teaching. I love digging into studies of those He chose to use as examples within the pages of His Word. I've also learned to draw from past experiences when it has been necessary to depend upon His guidance and the comfort of His presence.

I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. Psalm 119:15-16

Much is said in the Word of God about the "Word of God." I like to consider the Bible (scriptures), the mind of God written down and revealed to His children. Reading the whole of the 119 Psalm will give a glimpse into the Word of Truth and God's dependability. My favorite is below:

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

When you seek to know and do God's will, He reveals Himself and His ways. His Holy Spirit becomes your travel guide through His Word and your life. Study God's Word for yourself. Remember, your spiritual walk is a personal walk with your Creator, your Savior and the Lord of your Forever Life. Take His teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness with joy. As you seek His path you can have confidence in the New Direction God offers.

"Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it." Psalm 119:35

A Prayer to Share:

Father God,

I praise You for giving us this New Life in Christ Jesus, and for the living Word. I am so thankful for the Love and instruction contained within it's books. Thank You for giving direction and guidance in the way you would have us to live.
