Serve Your Master

 

Sometimes we try too hard to be servants to other people, and do what is the most popular thing to do. Jesus gives us a command in the verse above. He says "It is written," when He is teaching something that has also been taught in the Old Testament scriptures. This verse is found in Deuteronomy 6:13 and was taught by Moses as he reminds God's people to obey everything God tells them in His Ten Commandments. We serve God when we are careful to do what is right. God is the only Master we can serve. He will teach us how to serve others for His glory.

Path Connection Prayer

God, our loving Father,

Give me a heart that is willing to serve You first, and others as You would show me to serve them. Keep my eyes looking for You to lead me in the ways I should serve.
