"IN FAITH, HE..." Devotional from Cherbear

Share the Wealth

The whole law can be found in a single command. "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Galatians 5:14
Jesus told us, all of God's laws can be obeyed if we remember these two commands; Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind, and love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves. Our neighbors are the people God brings around us.
"All the believers were agreed in heart and mind. They didn't claim that anything they had was their own. They shared everything they owned." Acts 4:32
The first Christian churches of New Testament times lived much differently than we do. They put everything they had together to care for everyone. God has told us that everything we have belongs to Him. He asks that we take care of our Christian brothers and sisters in need. When we do and give Him the glory, they will know their help has came from the Lord. This will build their faith in Him and help us to grow in our relationship with Him as well. Thinking about the feelings and needs of others before we think about our own will help others to feel His presence in their times of need.
"Suppose someone falls down. Then his friend can help him up. But suppose the man who falls down doesn't have anyone to help him up. Then feel sorry for him!" Ecclesiastes 4:10
God's Word has all the information we need to know how we are to treat others and can teach us how we can be good friends helping others to witness His goodness. His instructions are really not that difficult to follow. We can share our blessings with others and extend the many characters of God in any circumstance He may leads us into. He will show us where He is working to advance His Kingdom purpose and He will enable us to join Him wherever He is at work. That is when our witness, our faith and the sharing of all of the wealth we experience from knowing God in a personal way can benefit others.
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. (Jesus) Colossians 1:16
God knew our first need was for salvation! He supplied that through His Son, Jesus; And He gave this gift freely to all whom would believe in Him. When we accept that gift, we become His children and as we mature further in our faith we learn to put God's purposes ahead of our own need. We trust that He knows our needs, has us in His care, and we choose to obey Him, seeking to do His will. That is when we are truly trusting Him. In Faith,...He is worthy of that trust!
A prayer to share:
Dear Lord,
So many times I fail to share your goodness with others. I pray you will help me have "watchful eyes," that will help me see others with Your agape vision. My life in You is planted firmly in my salvation. Help me rest in that blessed assurance as I remember to share not only the material and physical needs You supply, but the spiritual wealth as well.
