Easter Sunday — Heavenly Ascent

Who Am I In Christ?

God bless your Easter Sunday celebration of our Lord and Savior! May it be filled with all the joy and reverence for which it is intended.

"Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen!" Mark 16:6

We give a lot of thought about the crucifixion of our Lord. This is good! We need to remember what He did for us and the magnitude of the love that took Him there. However, let us not leave Him on the cross. We should shout praises to God the Father for the resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. HE LIVES! Because of Him, we have His resurrection power. If we are "In Christ" we are God's children and heirs to His thrown.

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

The New Testament letters (The Epistles) give enlightenment and testimony for who we are, if we are saved! To be "In Christ," our spirit must be born again into a new life with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Do you know Him? Is He the Lord of Your life? If not, would you like to? Visit my adult statement of faith page for instructions for a life that is in Him!

These are a few of the benefits of the believer revealed to us in God's Word:

Substitute your name for "I"

I am saved — I am free from the laws of sin and death.
I am a child of God — I am crucified, buried and arisen with Christ.
I walk in the light — I have access to the Father, anytime.
I am sealed in Christ — I am a partaker of His divine nature.
I am hidden in Christ — I am a member of the family of God.
I am abiding in Christ — I have fellowship with Jesus.
I am a Saint — I am a follower of Christ.
I have eternal life — I am complete in Him.
I have His Name — I am a new creature.

I found these in my notes within the pages of First John! Seek the verses of the Bible which include, "In Christ."
There are many more. I listed these from a sermon preached by Charles Stanley and In Touch Ministries.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Isreal and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him. Acts 5:30
Without the shedding of the innocent blood of Jesus, The Lamb of God, our righteousness would be nothing more than "filthy rags" to our Heavenly Father.
But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; Isaiah 64:6a
His Word has taught me to claim my inheritance. "IN FAITH, HE..." sent His Holy Spirit to live in and testify these wonderful truths to me. As I study His Word, abide in His loving shelter, remain in obedience, and trust in His divine power, He makes all things good!
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set you mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3
A Prayer to Share:
Father God,
You are worthy of Praise! Thank you for loving me and sending Your Son, Jesus to save me for all eternity and for sending Your Holy Spirit to lead, guide protect and comfort me in all my days on this earth! Jesus lives!
