Darkness of living in Sin
Drowning in sin or Drowning your sins?
Stepping into sin is like stepping across God's line in the sand. Doing wrong things instead of right things separates us from God's blessings. God is pure and Holy. We are all sinners. God cannot look at our sins. When we refuse Jesus as our Lord, we go into the rough waters of the ocean. We sink to the bottom and cannot be seen by God. How can we stay in the light with God? How do we get our sins thrown to the deepest part of the sea? We must agree with God! We must belong to His Son. Then, He can give us His mercy and His blessings.
Refusing God's Son Jesus separates us from God.
"...You will completely wipe out the evil things we've done.
You will throw all of our sins into the bottom of the sea."
Light of living in God's Glory
Resting under the Sun or Resting with the Son?
Jesus is lighting our way to God. He is our Savior. We can rest knowing He loves us. He suffered and died on a cross. He was punished for the bad things we do. We are learning to swim when we learn God's Word. We are safe with His Holy Spirit to help us stay afloat. God loves us and wants us to choose right instead of wrong. He wants us to know His Son and stay in the light where He can bless us. We can receive His Mercy. We can live at peace, with Jesus. Joy can fills our hearts!
Asking God's Son Jesus to live in our heart will save us.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.

Gramma Cherbear uses Jonah in the search for God on the Beach!
God Called Jonah by Gramma Cherbear
Jonah was a man who loved God. He might have been walking on the beach when God spoke to Him. God told Jonah to go to the town of Nineveh. He said to tell the people He was about to destroy their town because of their sins. If they would choose to do what was right, God would show them His mercy and save them.
Jonah did not agree with God. He did not want God to save the sinful people of Nineveh. He tried to sail away and hide from God. He found a boat and sailed away. God brought a bad storm and the boat was in danger of sinking. Jonah told the crew how he had rejected God. He told them to throw him overboard so they would be saved.
God sent a big whale to swallow Jonah. The whale kept him from drowning in the deep waters. He had three days in the whales belly to think about what he had done. Jonah decided to agree with God! When Jonah asked to be forgiven the whale put him back upon the beach safely. Jonah obeyed God. He warned Nineveh what God was going to do. The people of Ninevah listened to Jonah. They began to worship God and do what was right. He was able to save a lost town because Jonah did what He told Him to do.
Jonah went back to the beach. He was sad. He did not believe the people of Nineveh deserved to be saved. He had forgotten; When he sinned and ran from God, God gave him mercy and forgiveness. He did not deserve forgiveness from God any more than the people of Nineveh did.
God does not save us because of anything we do. He gave us His mercy as a gift when Jesus died on the cross. We are saved because of what Jesus did! We do not deserve forgiveness. God gives it freely to those who follow Jesus out of the deep darkness of sin into His wonderful light.

If you want to ask Jesus to live in your heart,
say this prayer:
I understand that I do bad things. You call this sin. I ask You to fill my empty heart with Jesus. I believe that Jesus is Your Son. He was punished for my sins. He died for me on the cross because He loves me. He lives again. Please forgive the bad things I have done. Thank you for sending Your Holy Spirit to live inside of me. Help me to be like Jesus. Thank you God, for your wonderful plan. I am Your child! Jesus is my Lord and my very best Friend!
If you prayed this prayer and asked Jesus to come into your heart,
please tell your Church School teacher or Pastor that you did.
