Back to Cherbears Home Page

I have cancelled my weekly email newsletter, however you may access the yearly devotional archives from my Family Devotional connection page. I hope you will enjoy it's content! I have left a sample of the devotions and lessons as you will find them below!

It is my mission for family members to be united weekly in the teaching of God's Word and in daily devotion to Him. The links for the lessons are conveniently listed below the weekly devotion for quick access. I have also listed the links of curriculum pages for those dedicated to teaching the children.

I have posted a bit of my story from the last 14 years for those whom are interested in the progression of the site. I have much work left to do and appreciate your prayers!

Whose Got the Power?

According to God's Word, I do! How awesome is that? I cannot express how many times I have jumped out ahead of God. I wish I could say I have learned to go to Him first and "always wait patiently" for God's answer. I have been taught about His answers being, "Yes," "No," and sometimes "Wait." I've experienced His faithfulness in all of these! Yet I sometimes find myself trying to fix things on my own. God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. That means He is "All Powerful," All Knowing," and "Ever Present." As a child of His promise, I do have the power, however the true power comes from Him and must begin with prayer!

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. ...we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

As Christians, we need to draw on God's own indescribable power. We have been given power in our prayers and petitions to God, to the breaking down of every stronghold in which the devil may attempt to chain us. I often wonder why it seems we wait so long to get on our knees? We are God's children! He wants more than anything for us to nurture our relationship with Him, "fully relying" and "trusting in" Him! That is where the power of prayer comes in. We pray, believing God will answer, trusting in His perfect will, and sometimes in His permissive will. If we mess up it puts us in an awkward position with God. I'm not saying God is awkward, He is never surprised at what we do, but we become awkward because of our own ignorance, and disobedience. We and others may suffer consequences for our actions or we may be the receptors of the disobedience of someone else. God's desire is to bless us. We can pray for His wisdom, protection, guidance, and help. You name it; God is waiting with His goodness and mercy. It is His Mighty Power, but it is there for us to share!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Keeping our thoughts captive to God's will and His ways will bring us to our knees and the quicker we get there, the quicker and clearer our answer from God will be. When seeking the "full armor of God," the first place we need to be is, "at His feet," humbly approaching Him for our answers. He will bring the victory, and we will know from Whom our victory came.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is ... against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:10-12

A prayer to share:

Father God,

You are the All Powerful One. I ask that Your Holy Spirit nudge me toward prayer first when I face the difficulties in life. Help me to be forever mindful of Your presence and Your desire to give victory over the schemes of the evil one, in all things. I praise You Lord, for always giving Your best answer to my prayers in Your perfect timing. Amen

The Full Armor of God Bible Studies and Devotions

As we begin to study the Full Armor of God, I felt a need to express how important it is that we begin with prayer. There can be no spiritual warfare without prayer. I find that the children and teen lessons go a long way in also teaching the teachers. We all need to be in the study of God's Word. I hope you will follow the links below.
