"For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance - now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant."

Hebrews 9:15

What must I do to know God!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Proverbs 3:5

I Put My Trust in the Lord!

A farmer is in Iowa during a flood. The river is overflowing, with water surrounding the farmer's home up to his front porch. As he is standing there, a boat comes up, The man in the boat says " jump in I'll take you to safety".

The farmer crosses his arms and says stubbornly, "Nope, I put my trust in God"

The boat goes away. The water rises to the second floor. Another boat comes up, the man says to the farmer who is now in the second story window, "Jump in, I'll save you"

The farmer again says, "Nope, I put my trust in God"

The boat goes away. Now the water is up to the roof. As The farmer stands on the roof, a helicopter comes over, and drops a ladder. The pilot yells down to the farmer "I'll save you, climb the ladder."

The farmer says "Nope, I put my trust in God"

The helicopter goes away. The water continues to rise and sweeps the farmer off the roof.

He drowns.

The farmer goes to heaven. God sees him and says "What are you
doing here?"

The farmer says "I put my trust in you and you let me down."
God says, "What do you mean, let you down? I sent you two boats and a helicopter"!!

"But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."

Psalms 31:14

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

John 8:36

From Paul Revere's Ride
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo forevermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.

"...those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint."

Isaiah 40:31

Soaring with Eagles or

Gliding on the Wings of the Dove?

by Gramma Cherbear

Sometimes, I am soaring with the eagles. When God lets me soar because I obey His Word, it just doesn't get any better than soaring.

I like soaring!

Isa. 40:31 ... those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Sometimes, I am walking in the high places. When God lets my feet walk in high places because I am walking with Jesus, there is no greater path to walk.

I love the high places!

Ps. 18:33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

Amos 4:13 He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, he who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth-- the LORD God Almighty is his name.

Sometimes, God calls me to rest with faith in Him. Resting in the Lord, as I see my life from up high gliding on the wings of the Dove. That is when I see the cross of Calvary is in full vision!

I really need to glide!

Sometimes I sit quietly with God. As I listen to Him speak through my prayers, His Word and of course the trials I am facing, I glide on the wings of the Dove. Your Holy Spirit keeps me safe!

"IN FAITH, HE..." allows me to draw near to Him, then He draws near to me!

Selah (Just think of that.)

Ps. 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God"

Thank you Father for letting this unworthy child soar with the eagles. I love walking with Jesus in the high places. I thank you for my need to glide and draw near to you! Your Spirit comforts me when I am unsettled, and reminds me to look at the cross. You are God, help me to be still! Amen!

Shield of Faith

"...be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. "

 Ephesians 6: 10-17

will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. "
