Nearly twenty-six hundred years ago Isaiah came with a message of hope for a hopeless world. This hope was wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ the long-looked for Messiah, the Savior of mankind.
The greatness of His Person is revealed in His Name. Isaiah wrote, "His Name shall be called WONDERFUL." He is wonderful in Himself, in His Word, and His works. He is wonderful for WHO HE is, the Son of God. God said, "This is my BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased" (Matt. 3:17). He is wonderful for what He DID for us. "Who loved me, and gave Himself for me: (Gal. 2:20).
He is wonderful in His counsel to us, for He is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col. 2:3). People sometimes give wrong counsel, but He, the wonderful Counselor, always gives the right guidance for each situation.
As the MIGHTY God all "power belongeth" unto Him (Ps. 61:11). No need is too great for Him. Not only does He feel our difficulties with us, but goes beyond and acts in our behalf. It has been said, "We have only proved the sufficiency of God when we have asked of Him the impossible." He who is wonderful is our Mighty God.
He, the EVERLASTING FATHER, is the Father of eternity whose plans and purposes are everlasting. As His child, we have a place in His eternal plan.
He is the PRINCE of PEACE, administering His peace to confused hearts in a confused world. "For He is our peace" (Eph. 2:14).
JESUS! What a Name! "And His name shall be called WONDERFUL." "Thou shalt call HIS NAME JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins" (Matt. 1:21).
The more intimately we know Him, the deeper our trust in Him. "And they that know THY NAME will put their trust in Thee" (Ps. 9:10).

The Indescribable Christ!
Describe Jesus Christ--call Him a teacher, a prophet, a good man, the Son of God--but whatever your beliefs, at some point, you will exhaust the capabilities of the English language, or any language, to fully portray the wonders and mysteries of His Being. To the born-again Christian, He is truly indescribable. He is more, He means more, than human language can adequately express.
