"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
Galatians 6:10
The Buddy System

Have you noticed that friends treat you differently? There are those that make you happy! There are others that make you feel bad. Maybe you become uncomfortable when friends put you down or disagree with you in a sarcastic way? God's Word has some warnings for us about the kind of friend we should or should not be. God calls them encouragers and discouragers. Which describes the kind of friend you want to be? Do you sometimes make a friend feel bad about who they are, or how they look?
God instructs us to be encouragers. When we see someone who is discouraged we should show them kindness. Showing God's love can bring hope to them. Think about how you would want to be treated and then go the extra mile offering encouragement.

Emmi Squirrel lost her grip and fell from the tree. She needs a really good friend to support her. Squirrels are suppose to be most proficient climbers. Cami Cub knows just how to help her. She will comfort Emmi and encourage her to dust herself off and give it another try. With Cami's help, Emmi will do much better the next time. Because she has been shown the Agape Love of God, she will be stronger and more careful. Cami is the sort of encourager God would have us be to others.
God wants us to do good to all people. He especially wants us to help and do good to others who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We should pray for our Christian brothers and sisters, be good "buddies" to each other, and always bring words of encouragement to help them succeed.
